One thing I know is this: if you get a chance to leap for a brass ring, even if you're absolutely certain that everyone else is in a better position to make the jump and has longer legs than you do besides, take the leap anyway.

Hi, y'all! Did you have a good weekend? We did; yesterday we celebrated my oldest child's FIFTEENTH birthday!! Where does the time go?? Other news: I'm working on getting my Etsy shop up and running again after spending my mask-making time with it in Vacation Mode; I want to list my pendants and chainmaille bracelets. … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: June 15, 2020

I've been keeping a Covid-19 diary (not particularly faithfully; slightly less often than once per week at this point) with stats and my impressions, etc. just in case it has historical value/interest someday. The entries are usually hurried, more of an afterthought, but life is kind of like that these days, scattered and demanding, so … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: June 8, 2020

(Not going to address The Day, since I have an international readership, but if you're in the USA and offended that I didn't, pretend I did. :-p) Hi! How's it going, y'all? The weather's heating up here, so we've become popsicle fanatics again (no air conditioning in our creaky old-but-wonderful house). Later in the week … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: May 25, 2020

Hi! Can you believe it's almost MAY?? My puppy for The Stitched Puppy Project arrived today! I need to take "unboxing" photos. I'm going to add a patch of needlework to this blank plush dog, then send it to the next stitcher in my group, who will do the same, on through the last person, … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: April 27, 2020

Hey there! Are you looking for ways to brighten your day and maybe someone else's while we're isolating ourselves (if we're not essential workers)? I've found a few things that might help; they're happening in my neighborhood and town. 🙂 1) Consider putting up holiday lights, or even just a strand of white lights or … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: March 23, 2020

Hi! How are you? Today felt like spring here! It was gorgeous. I love winter, but I can also appreciate why people look forward to this season. Now, it's probably a false alarm/there may be more winter yet, but soon enough, spring will reign. I can't wait until my spring bulbs and plants start arriving! … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: March 9, 2020

Half-mundane, half-magical, because that's how it goes

Well, that didn't go as planned, but what ever does?

Hi, y'all! What a whirlwind of a week it's been. We had our next-to-last choir rehearsal tonight for "Messiah." We're sounding pretty decent for the size of the choir! I can't wait to rehearse in the concert space; acoustics are always different. It'll be a treat to hear the orchestra, too! (And I'm only mildly … Continue reading Mel’s Monday Musings: December 9, 2019
