Hi, y’all. How’s it going? Are you ready for your preferred winter holiday(s)?
I made decent progress on handmade gifts today. Between that and choir rehearsal (our final one before dress rehearsal w/the orchestra Saturday; concert is Sunday!), my left shoulder blade is on fire again. It’s been bothering me since Thanksgiving (think I did something to it shoveling snow, pulled a muscle or have a small tear or something) and I keep aggravating it. It’s hard to not use that area! I’ll just have to get over it or it’ll have to heal in its own good time.
Anyway…one out of three kids’ handmade gifts = done! I’ll try to knock out another set tomorrow. It’s sneaking right on up; time is short and the to-do list is long. It’ll all get done though.
(I also had another craft idea/thing I want to learn to make…it’ll have to wait until after New Year’s, most likely!)
I lost a friend a bit ago, and I don’t really understand why. It’s been weighing heavily on me, but I also have learned that you have to let people just be who/how/when/where they are; we may want answers but it doesn’t always mean the other party owes them to us. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is to just give them space. I don’t know what’s going on but if they want to explain (or to reach out and start again, or whatever) I’m not hard to find. And if they don’t? Well, as hard as it is, sometimes we just have to accept that we don’t get to know something, or get to have life arranged as we would have preferred it.
There are good things happening too, of course…life is never fully one thing or the other, is it?
My Christmas cactus (the one my shitty cat didn’t tear apart) is blooming like crazy. I’ll have to get a picture sometime. The other one is still in recovery mode; I think it will bud out again soon if I’m lucky.
What’s new on your end of things? Take it easy during this often-stressful holiday period, and make sure you aren’t putting yourself last all the time in the chaos. You deserve to relax, even if it means not everything gets done today. Breathe, and be well, friends. 🙂
