Updates and more updates (The Eclectic Inkess)

Hi, y’all! I thought it was time for an update post to let ya know how things are going with the rework of…well, pretty much everything.

The biggest in-process change is that Wandering Bloom Art is rebranding to better encompass my interests (and because change is good sometimes). The WBA website is slow and has few visitors, while Melstery gets hundreds of weekly visitors even when there’s nothing new to see. I need to funnel traffic more effectively, and one way I plan to do this is by having the rebrand more centrally tied to Melstery itself.

This is really the hub of everything, right here. (Vibrant Anxious Brave continues to be a pleasant Substack journey though. I really like that platform for random thoughts. VAB will also be linked directly to Melstery more permanently at some point, so you can find all of my writing in one place.)

WBA is becoming The Eclectic Inkess, slowly but surely. You can find my shop of the same name on Etsy now, and I’m getting new listings up as fast as I can (not as fast as I’d like, but there’s a lot going on because, well, life. Y’all get it). The accompanying YouTube channel has been delayed but is in the works.

I’m also debating whether to use Shopify or Square to help people purchase art and artisan items directly from me here on the site. So far, it’s looking like Square is the better value, but possibly with less functionality and a more difficult tie-in process. I’ve used Square for in-person shows for years without issue, so I’m also more familiar with it.

I need a “good” logo for The Eclectic Inkess, but for now, this colorful little placeholder logo I made in Canva will work:

Cute, right?

Books: My next poetry collections are still in-progress (the NC-themed one and the next general batch as well). My children’s book is still looking for a non-vanity-press home; I plan to double down on seeking an agent next month.

I think that’s about it for now! I hope everyone in your corner is doing well. Thanks for being here, y’all.
