Hi! Holy crap — it’s JULY! The first six months of 2019 have passed.
Are you where you thought you’d be?
Are you where you want to be?
I’m getting there (I think). These past few days have been a mix of hard work and reveling in the little things that are going right.
Oh, and poem snippets. The words are coming now, but they don’t always fit together. And the other night, for the second time in about a month, I woke myself up shouting a word that isn’t actually a word (in any language I’ve heard, anyway). I don’t remember it now, just the vague synesthetic colors it evoked and a nebulous shape on my tongue, a tracing of where it pressed down forcefully before exploding from my mouth.
Different word this time. I have no idea what’s going on.
In simple awesomeness, things are growing well now! We’re getting strawberries every day, and although they’re small, they’re wickedly sweet (so say those in my household who eat strawberries…I am sadly not among them).

I’m also delighted that the flowers I planted along a head-height planter set into the top of part of my backyard fence are taking off. (I spent a long time digging roofing debris out of the soil up there and adding fresh, healthier dirt!) They got off to a very slow start, and I worried the creeping shyness of summer had stunted their growth.
Nope! They were just on their own schedule, not mine.

Ahh, summer. 🙂
