It is also the first day “after Texas.” We closed (as sellers) on our TX house yesterday. We’re not in our new house in our new state for a few weeks yet (staying with family for a bit) but there is great comfort in leaving TX behind. For the first time since October 2010, I do not reside in Texas. Heady stuff.
May certain elements of the past stay behind too.
Sometimes the harvest is most telling in the leavings on the ground — we gather that which serves us, and leave the rest for Nature to make use of/carry away as only She can.
