continuing education
i am unbridled fire, riding rough
and careless, but in one well-timed stroke
my wildness submits to the asking in your eyes.
reshape me in your careful hands
until i know the contours of us by heart.
repeat the lesson and slake your thirst.
there’s a gravity and a lightness i never knew —
teach me the language of lightning unbound;
plumb the depths of slow and aching joy.
