Saluton! Kiel vi fartas? Mi estas tre bone!
I’ve decided to learn Esperanto. The first week has gone pretty well, I think! Esperanto is a constructed language (developed in 1887) that has about two million speakers worldwide.
I like it because it has just a handful of grammar rules and there aren’t a bunch of crazy exceptions like English has (as do many other languages). I also like the concept of a language designed to facilitate cross-cultural exchanges and friendships.
So that’s pretty cool.
This weekend, we’re going to check out something called “rail biking” on a portion of train tracks that never saw passenger use. It’s not supposed to be terribly hot (I’m always looking around warily for the dragon’s breath heat that makes everything unbearable and shitty), so as long as I jump into a vat of sunscreen beforehand, it should be an awesome outing.
There are two birthdays in my house this week (DH and my son). Then, two weeks later, another kiddo has her birthday. It’s an insane time of year here but I’ll take it.
I’ve been having some heavy thoughts lately about friendship and various things I wish were different in a lot of ways, but overall, life is good and I really can’t complain.
Your turn! What are you looking forward to this week?
