The wonderful poet Mary Oliver once said, “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.”
Someone important to me is trying to hand me a box of darkness; I keep bending myself into impossible shapes to avoid accepting it.
Well, no more. I am going to take this box and dive into the darkness, because what the other person doesn’t realize is, I’ve already seen the stars within it. Their faint glimmer calls to me, and I know I’ll be ok.
