Mel’s Monday Musings: November 29, 2021

As I prepare to put this next poetry collection out, between fun things like decorating the tree and plotting major overhauls of certain rooms of the house, I’m struck again by the fact that people see what they want to see.

That applies to so many things in life…so many people are just sleepwalking through their days, not even really looking at the people and things around them. Not only do you miss out on beauty that way, but you miss important information.

It also applies to political things. Confirmation bias. Something lines up with the beliefs you already have, so you don’t question it. It’s not comfortable to challenge your own thoughts.

It’s critical, though. Don’t sleepwalk through your life. Wake up. Live vibrantly. Know what’s going on around you!

It matters.
