Mel’s Monday Musings: November 2, 2020 (ELECTION EVE)

Whatever happens tomorrow, remember: Your VOTE counts. And in many cases, those votes (early in-person and mail-in) will continue to be counted after Election Day ends. Don’t give up if it takes a while to get results; this is NORMAL. It just doesn’t feel like it when Cheetolini is trying to push for a definitive answer on Election Night. He can’t say with certainty that he’s won even if most Dem votes come in what’s termed a “blue shift” after Election Night — until the votes are counted, there is no certified winner.

And if you’re in line to vote tomorrow when the polling hours end, STAY IN LINE — YOU STILL GET TO VOTE. Have a plan and be prepared to wait!

Don’t watch the Election Night coverage if your sanity is fraying and your anxiety is high. Whatever happens-or-doesn’t will still be there in the morning. IT IS OK to not watch, to stay away.

Please be good to yourselves. This is a rough ride, and it doesn’t end tomorrow — but we are in it together. Have hope!

And gods, please, please let this be a prophetic sign, nabbed from Twitter:
