Mel’s Monday Musings: October 14, 2019

Hi, y’all! Can you believe we’re heading into the middle of October already??

Life is a bit insane over here; had one craft show last weekend and have another on Saturday (thankfully, this one is just a one-day affair so I’ll still have Sunday to regroup for the coming week!). We have a leak in the (14-month-old) roof — 30yr warranty, supposedly, but the owners before us must have the paperwork because I don’t — and I finally, after a zillion attempts, have a roofer actually coming out tomorrow. We also just found out today that one of our kids needs a custom piece of orthotic equipment, so even if I do well at the next few craft shows, I’m still not sure how we’re gonna fare over this next while. Still getting the house ready for winter; I’m worried we’re going to run out of time.

There is just so much going on right now. Sometimes I can’t even breathe — and that’s when I have to just take a step back and do exactly that. On the up side, a lot of the stuff that’s keeping us busy is fun! (Craft shows, choir, and my dad is coming up next week for almost the entire week, for starters!)

My birthday is just around the corner. I’m not sure how I feel about turning 37 later this month. It’s better than the alternative, eh? (By a long shot, even when life is hectic and stressful.) I never really felt settled into 36…I guess that’s the way it goes sometimes.

Anyway…don’t sweat the small stuff because in the end, it’s almost all small stuff, right? Right. 🙂 Breathe. You got this. I got this too.

How goes it?
