Hi! How’s your week going so far?
I burned the back of my neck walking to pick up my youngest kiddo from school today (I had long hair for most of the past decade and although it’s been shorter for almost two years now, apparently I still forget to sunscreen back there until the first time I burn). Oy. But, at least it’s short-sleeves-and-sunburn weather, I guess!
(Our last snow was less than three weeks ago.)
In purely happy news, we discovered today that a rabbit is living under the useless-wtf-were-they-thinking playhouse/shed/thingie in the back yard.
So cute! I hope I don’t lose many flowers to said rabbit though, and we’ll definitely have to use caution with the mower. I’ll walk the yard carefully and mark any potential nest sites just in case.
I took a simple offering outside this evening. I suspect our resident bunbun will find it tasty, and I expressed gratitude for all that such a visitor can represent. And yes, I did my homework to make sure nothing I left would be accidentally harmful. (It is critical to not assume that whatever you want to do is what’s actually best!)
Devotion to your path isn’t always flashy or elaborate. The point is to do the Work. Sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes it sucks, even when you know it’s the right thing to do.
Sometimes, though, it’s as “small” or simple as leaving offerings/gifts, or acknowledging with whatever else you do that something special has happened.
Sometimes it’s as straightforward as living with your eyes open, actively choosing to see all that’s around you, and following that knowledge with thoughtful, meaningful actions.
What happy little discoveries have you made this Spring?
