Hi, and welcome to the first of two new features here at Melstery! When I was rethinking this blog (the whole site, really…more on that another time), I decided that I wanted it to be more than me venting my spleen about whatever. I may do that too, between Monday Musings, but Melstery is so much more than that.
It’s a window, among other things, into the life of a Druid — because it can’t not be that, since it’s my site! So I thought that maybe it’d be fun and interesting to introduce a topic or seed thought each Monday, and give you my perspective.
I’d also love to hear your thoughts in the comments! (A word about comments: While this is a judgment-free zone and all are welcome, comments are moderated because I do occasionally get someone who wants to spew nasty things, and that doesn’t generally further the discussion in a productive way. Short of being ugly to someone/some group of people, your comments will always be approved and will show up within a few hours.)
If there’s anything you’re curious about, feel free to leave a comment with your topic suggestion(s) or question(s) and I’ll make sure to include those in future Monday Musings! Nothing is off-limits.

I’d like this to be a space where we can all be vulnerable with one another, no matter our faith (or none) or our thoughts on various topics. I once ran a “front porch” feature of sorts on another site, where people could just drop by and comment on whatever was going on, and meet with friendship and a sense of belonging. I’d like to recreate that feeling here.
Like the bare-branched (and already occasionally snow-laden) trees heading into winter here in New York, I am learning to stand naked and unafraid in my place in this world, trusting in the cycles and timing of my life. This site is a place for me to more fully explore what that means.
I hope you’ll join me.
I love to write and have thought about blogging, too, but I don’t know where to start. Suggestions?

Are there certain subjects you’re passionate about (dogs, art, etc.) or that you have a lot of experience with that you’d like to share with the world? I find it’s easiest to write what you know, but the sky is the limit and it can be fun to brainstorm. 🙂 I love reading blogs about all kinds of different things — if the writing is compelling, people will read, no matter what you’re writing about.
