Hi! We’re halfway through February already; can you believe it? This year is picking up speed. And hopefully that means we’re all closer and closer to being vaccinated and being able to pick up some semblance of normalcy in our lives.
What are you going to do first when travel and congregating in large groups are relatively safe again? Me, I’m flying home to NC. Can’t wait to put my arms around someone I love and haven’t seen in years now. This is the longest I’ve been away and I can feel it getting closer, even if I don’t know exactly when I’ll be able to go.
I’m also going to attend every concert I’m able to swing — oh my gods, I miss live music!! I have a ticket to a show in the fall that I’m hopeful will go on as planned…guess we’ll see. I think all of this has shown us just how awesome a lot of the things we took for granted really are — and how connected we are; we don’t thrive when we’re isolated from each other. Community matters, and we are each part of more (and larger) communities than we may have realized before the pandemic hit.
Every day is a day closer to getting out of this mess, together.
In the meantime, have you heard any good music lately? Drop me suggestions in the comments or on Twitter or IG! I’ll take book recommendations too, although my “to be read” pile is already out of control. (And please keep masking up, washing your hands, and social distancing.)
Stay safe and well, and be kind to each other. That’ll see us through anything.
